Personal Information
Young Decision Makers / Centre of Excellence for Youth Engagement is responsible for maintaining and protecting the personal information under its control. Every effort has been made and will be made to keep personal information secure. The knowledge and consent of the user are required for the collection, use or disclosure of user personal information. Young Decision Makers/The Centre of Excellence for Youth Engagement collects personal information for the following purposes:
* Discussion Forum registration
* Ordering and Delivery of products / Information regarding new products
* Receiving our newsletters, updates, new opportunities, annual reports
* Research / Follow-up research and evaluation
By submitting your information you are providing us with consent to hold this personal information and use it for Young Decision Makers/The Centre of Excellence for Youth Engagement contact purposes. Your information will be kept confidential and will never be SOLD to any third party under any circumstances. However, there are three exceptions where your personal information must be shared with a 3rd party:
1. If you disclose that any child under the age of 16 years is being abused or is currently at risk of being abused, the information must be reported to a local child welfare agency by law.
2. If a child discloses that he/she is planning to kill him/herself, we must get him/her help.
3. If a child discloses that he/she has endangered the life of someone, or is about to do so, proper authorities must be contacted.
NOTE: You have the right to request removal of your personal information from our database at any time. Please email to ydm@tgmag.ca with the subject line: "personal info removal" and include details in the email.
Editorial Policy
When you submit your work to us, you are saying:
“ I hereby grant to "The Students Commission" and those authorized on its behalf, including its official and non-official partners, the right to photograph, record on film, videotape, audiotape, other audiovisual or written format, my voice, person, or other material produced by me related to the "The Students Commission" Conference and the work of "The Centre of Excellence for Youth Engagement" which "The Students Commission" is leading, and grant also the non-exclusive right, license and privilege under copyright, or other right, or license enjoyed by me, to use, broadcast, cablecast, reproduce, print, publish and distribute the above in any format for educational and promotional purposes, worldwide, in perpetuity. I warrant and represent that the rights granted herein, and the use thereof will in no way infringe or violate any trade mark patent, trade name, or copyright of any person, and I hereby release "The Students Commission" and its partners from all actions, claims and demands arising from the above grant, except those arising from "The Students Commission's" negligence; and agree to indemnify and save "The Students Commission" harmless from all claims, costs, charges, damages and expenses arising from the breach of the above warrant. “
Published submissions of children (print or online) will contain no last names or cities to eliminate the identification and/or tracking of authors through their published work.
